Samsung is reported to be working on the Galaxy Mega series of Smartphones. The company is expected to launch two variants of smartphones in this category. The Galaxy Mega 5.8 with 5.8 inch of screen display and Galaxy mega 6.3 with 6.3 inch of display size.
The Galaxy Mega codename GT-I9152 will be a high-end DUOS smartphone with a 5.8” qHD (960×540) TFT display. The other similar mobiles launched recently by Samsung is Galaxy Grand DUOS has a 5.0” display. According to the report, Samsung will give the Galaxy Mega 5.8 a 8 megapixel back camera and a 2 megapixel front camera. The processor would be a dual-core clocked at 1.4 GHz with 1.5 GB of RAM. An integral part of the device are the communication interface such as Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 80211 a/b/g/n and A-GPS. Galaxy Mega 5.8 will carry a 2600 mAh battery and the dimensions would be 164×83.8×9.7mm. The Galaxy Mega 5.8 will run on Android 4.1.2 / 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Samsung will use their own Nature UX interface on it.
The Galaxy Mega 6.3 with the code name GT-I9200 3G / GT-I9205 LTE, will have a 6.3” PLS HD resolution display, a 8 megapixel back camera, a 2 megapixel front camera. Coming to processor, the device carries dual core processor clocked at 1.7 GHz and will have 1.5 GB of RAM. Of course Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 80211 a/b/g/n and A-GPS are on the device too. Samsung will bring the Galaxy Mega 6.3 with a battery juice of 3200 mAh, the dimensions are 88×167.6×7.9mm, which is the same thickness as the Galaxy S4. The device self-will run on Android 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 and uses Samsung’s own Nature UX interface.
Samsung want to bring the Galaxy Mega 6.3 in 2 versions with and without LTE and is expected to be launched in the countries in accordance with their LTE infrastructure, similar strategy as for Galaxy S4. The device will come in 2 colours black and white. Samsung expects to sell the black version around week 20 and the white version will come later.
