The long-rumoured and much-awaited Galaxy Note 8.0 has finally been unveiled by Samsung. Its design bears a resemblance to the super-sized version of the Galaxy Note 2 phablet. This 8-inch version is designed to plug the gaps between the 5.5-inch Note 2 and the Note 10.1, and features the same stylus-toting experience. Have a look at what you can expect from Samsung's latest offering.
Design
With overall measurements of 210.8 x 135.9 x 8 mm, a weight of 338g, and a 7.9in display, this model is clearly designed to take on Apple’s iPad mini. Similar to other Notes, this particular piece is primarily built of gloss plastic, which ensures it’s pretty light and pleasingly glossy to touch. It has a wider edge, unlike the iPad mini with its narrow bezel on the long sides of the screen. This does imply that the Note 8.0 is a bit wider, but it also offers an easy grip without the risk of inadvertently pressing your thumb on the display.

Performance Quality
This phone’s powerful 1.6GHz quad-core beast processor enables the Note 8.0 to run at top speed. Its performance isn’t affected even with programs running in the background and two apps running simultaneously onscreen.

Battery Life
The Note 8.0 needs to be tested to understand how good it is in terms of battery life, but there’s certainly plenty of room for a big battery. Since the specs say this is a 4,600mAh cell, there’s every chance it’ll last properly.
The battery of Note 8.0 needs to be properly tested to understand its capabilities in terms of battery life. As per the specs, it has a 4,600mAh cell that certainly seems to have a chance for long-lasting usage.
Verdict
Although the iPad mini created strong competition against smaller screen tablets; the Note 8.0 with its the full mobile phone capabilities certainly adds a different, and a distinct model to the market.

The other downside is the battery... its not that great.
ReplyDeleteAs a Tab 7.7 user this isn't really an upgrade... sorry samsung. It should be tab 7.7 specs with quad core and higher res 8" screen with thinner bezels.
