Latest Samsung Galaxy S4 rumours

Ah, the grand chase between phone manufacturer Samsung and enthusiast technology journalists is coming to a close. As Samsung sits on the precipice of its announcement on Thursday of the Galaxy S IV, it was looking like the phone might make it all the way to the Samsung Unpacked event without being unveiled. But now it appears that one leak may have cost Samsung the game - leaked pictures and even a video has appeared that shows off the phone and a number of its features. Let's have a look!

The phone shown on camera definitely looks like a fourth generation Samsung Galaxy S IV - complete with a five inch display, dramatically thin bezel and TouchWiz interface. The phone shown is the China Unicom version, which includes two SIM card slots - the same feature was found on the Chinese variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note II.

Also of interest are the phone's specifications, which leaked recently via AnTuTu and seem to be confirmed by this Chinese leak. We're looking at a 1080p display and a Exynos Octa 5410 processor. That means eight cores - four A7, four A15 - running at 1.8 GHz, and backed with the now standard 2 GB of RAM and what could be an impressive PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU. 

On the software side of things, we're looking at Android 4.2.1 with the standard TouchWiz UI. Earlier this month, we saw some Galaxy S IV screenshots that made mention of the phone's new software abilities, including a way of scrolling to the next paragraph with your eyes ("Smart scroll") and pausing videos when you look away ("Smart pause").

That's pretty much it for rumours, I think, beyond the rather uninteresting Samsung Galaxy S IV official cases that were leaked last month and revealed only that the phone will include a camera, flash, speaker and the usual array of ports and buttons.
